Afternoon Tea at the Farmhouse

Nana invited us out to the old family farmhouse for afternoon tea yesterday.

Recieved some wonderful garden veggies (See the giant zucchini back there?)

Nana has it decorated so nicely.

Kids and the hammock.

Sugar cookies!
When we left, the girl got pouty because she didn't want to go and the boy said, "I like the farmhouse!"

Finish: An original sampler for my cousin, completed June 2010 with HDF silk on 35 ct HDF linen

  1. Wow, I came over to look at your Bertie Sampler and when I scrolled down and saw the framer stamped sampler above I had to laugh. I just hung that very same one in the living room. ONe of two I own. My mother did one and my grandmother did the other. They used to hang side by side but now I have them in different rooms. How fun is that!

  2. Fun! That one was was completed by my Nana in 1970 as you can see. I guess it was a popular pattern! :)

  3. I hadn't realized! Mom's is dated 1963 and my grandmother's is 64. They are framed similarly but not exactly the same.

Your Bertie is beautiful and I am inspired to start mine.
